In line with current government advice, these are the currently advised hygiene precautions:

During your clean

Avoid all physical greetings

Maintain a distance of 2 metres at all times with customers

Wash hands frequently and thoroughly for at least 20 seconds with soap and warm water and to dry them on paper disposable paper towels where possible

To catch coughs and sneezes with disposable paper towels and to dispose of them immediately. When this isn't possible, to cough and sneeze into their elbows to avoid infecting others


Please ensure to take with you the following: 

  • Disposable gloves
  • Disposable shoe coverings
  • Optional disposable cleaning suit and mask
  • Please ensure that either you or your customer takes with you a disinfectant cleaner which are are effective against fighting viruses as outlined here


Special attention must be paid to 'high-contact' areas

Ensure you are using the correct cleaning products and always double-check the information provided by the manufacturer on the back of the product

Conduct your typical clean, however pay special attention to the cleaning of 'high-contact' items which include table tops, kitchen surface, handles, remotes, switches and gadgets

Use disposable cloths or paper roll and disposable mop heads, to clean all hard surfaces, floors, chairs, door handles and sanitary fittings


Vacuum all areas

Ensure all areas are sufficiently vacuumed before conducting any mopping

Mopping

Ensure you mop all floors with a standard floor cleaner and wash any non-disposable materials used in water temperatures above 60 degrees Celsius  


Laundry

Wash items in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Use the warmest water setting and dry items completely. Dirty laundry that has been in contact with an unwell person can be washed with other people’s items


As a precaution, dispose of all disposable cloths and cleaning materials used in a safe manner as per the government guidance found here


All disposable materials used should be put in a plastic rubbish bag and which should then be tied and double bagged


Please remember to wash your hands with warm soapy water for 20 seconds
